After beating La Jolla 7-6 in the play-in round of the D4 CIF playoffs, the Torreys were victorious again yesterday, this time against #1 seed Madison.

After two scoreless innings, the Torreys broke out in the third with four runs. After Madison answered with one run, the Torreys struck for two in the fifth to take a 6-1 lead and held on for a 6-4 victory. 

As usual, Ayla Desai was excellent on the mount throwing all seven innings and only allowing one earned run. Audrey Bergen crushed a home run and Ayla, Tai Poumele, Kaitlin Yandel, and Allegra Grezemkovsky each recorded two hits in the victory. 

The #8 seeded Torreys will now head to Santa Fe Christian to take on the #4 Eagles on Friday. Game time is 3:30.
